In 2014, Loco Bloco celebrates 20 years of providing Afro-Latino community arts education and performance. Founded in the traditions of the Afro-Blocos of Brazil and with a focus on creating music and dance dedicated to cultural activism, Loco Bloco brings together traditional rhythms, movements and aesthetics of the African Diaspora within Latin America and fuses them with contemporary urban styles of music, dance and theater to create high-energy, innovative presentations based on social justice issues currently facing our community.
 

This Culminating Production will include:

  • original music, dance, stilt and bateria (drum) compositions performed by Loco Bloco’s Performing Ensemble and community youth classes.
  • New and retold original theater pieces
  • Guest Artists: Fogo Na Roupa
