Andrea Fraser presents "Men on the Line: Men Committed to Feminism, KPFK, 1972", a performance based on a 1972 radio broadcast of men debating their involvement and identification with feminist struggles and the women’s liberation movement. Fraser transcribed and edited the broadcast and performs as all four participants.
This is produced by the CCA Wattis Institute in collaboration with the Pacifica Foundation, Berkeley, a public radio network from whose archives Men on the Line was sourced. This performance of "Men on the Line" marks the conclusion of Pacifica’s large-scale archival project American Women, which included the digitization of nearly 1,700 reel-to-reel tapes. All profits from this event will be donated to the Pacifica Foundation. This is the third event in our six-month-long season about and around the work of Andrea Fraser.
