Black Benatar’s Black Magic Cabaret

THURSDAY, APRIL 19 – 7PM

Beatrice 2.jpeg

Derived from Strut's Black Love events for which Black Benatar was an original host, this salon features hot black and queer black performers in circus arts and comedy, including acro-dancer Toni Cannon, singer/songwriter and musician Jade Way, comedian Dominique Gelin, and choreographer Zoe Donnellycolt along with collaborating dancers Jenna Chen, Tarin Alexandria Griggs and Kaitlin Duffey.

Between acts host Black Benatar will perform a drag number or two, and perhaps some magic? Black Benatar's Black Magic Cabaret is like children’s show for adults, complete with a bed time story.

Toni Cannon made his debut on the stage six years ago with Topsy Turvy Queer Circus, and loved every moment of it. He has also worked Acrosanct, Body Waves, and Americas Got Talent finalist Abigail Baird’s company Arieal Animations. He loves acrobatics, and recently found a new love for pole. He really finds the challenge of performing and training thrilling, and would like to thank his family and friends for their support over the years.

Jade Way is a singer/songwriter and musician from Michigan. Raised by musician parents, from an early age, Jade had many teachers of classical, jazz, pop and RnB influence. Jade is the front-person of her band, Jade VELVET, where she cultivates the sounds of being lost and found in the Bay. Jade is also a member of The Singing Bois, where she lives out her troubadour dreams. When Jade’s not performing, she loves to cook and travel with her partner.
