Acrobatic Storytelling presents
Vulnerability
Saturday, September 16 – 8pm
Acrobatic Storytelling tells our community's most intimate stories through daring partner acrobatics, dance, and narration. This time, we are showing up and sharing our vulnerable moments. Vulnerability is uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure. When we are vulnerable, we gamble for the greatest joy — understanding, acceptance, and love — and risk the darkest sorrows of rejection and alienation. And sometimes we make ourselves vulnerable in the wrong moment or to the wrong person. Or for the sake of someone else's desires — and then we regret it. We have been asking one another, "When was the last time you opened up to someone? How did it go?"
The tales we've collected include:
<> Coming out to your family
<> Opening up a relationship
<> Overcoming addiction
<> Placing blind trust — your life — in someone's hands
<> Our vulnerability in the face of climate change And many more.
We are featuring acrobatic & dance performances by:
<> Alyssa Arroyo & Charles Green
<> Siobhan Shiva & Cody Schellenberger
<> Christopher Filkins & Emily Reuman
<> Antoine Barthelet & Danielle Lagana
<> Miyoko Rifkin & Eric Blood
<> Toni Cannon
<> José Miguel Marzano narrated by Simona Marie Asinovski
