Join Vissi Productions for the release of Is This Meta?, a short film by Hannah Gavagan. Based on the true story of Gavagan's father, the film follows his struggle for identity when after the passing of his mother he discovers the truth about his past.
Although a man is at the center of this story, look closely and you will see it is a story woven by women. The film pays witness to what happens to a family when masculinity is defined by toxicity, recognizing what women must carry daily to ensure their own emotional safety and that of their children.
Is this Meta? was created by incredibly strong women in the roles of writer, director, producer, and editor so that other women may see their truth honored on screen. The beauty in this film lies not only in the story told but also in the lives changed by it and the magical moments weaved throughout it's journey. Is This Meta? demands that we reflect within and ask ourselves: "What stories do I carry? How heavy do they weigh on my life? How do they effect my life and those around me?"
