Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Prince with a tribute screening of Purple Rain on his birthday, followed by a dance party! Our lovely host for the evening, the renowned poet Mona Webb, will be joined by DJ heyLove* on the turntables, bringing her unique genre-blurring mix to the party for those who appreciate the finer melodies in life. Dress to impress; come to drink (specialty cocktails on hand); and to pay tribute to Prince and the fierce & badass Pam the Funkstress (aka Purple Pam, aka the Turntable Queen), whose legendary spirit we’ll be channeling all night!

The Purple Pam Foundation will be set up in the lobby selling t-shirts and limited-edition Purple Pam mixed-tapes, with all sales going to support the Foundation’s community programs.

TICKETS
$17 - $25 sliding scale

(No one turned away at the door for lack of funds, subject to availability). All funds raised through ticket and bar sales go to support the mission and programs of Brava! for Women in the Arts.

The Purple Pam Foundation was created to keep Pam Warren aka Pam the Funkstress’ legacy and legend alive— to carry out her dream of creating an organization dedicated to helping to provide enrichment for children who are passionate about music and music technology, cultivating female entrepreneurship in the arts and encouraging the equal treatment of women in the entertainment industry. The Foundation’s website is also a source for stories and Hip Hop facts about Pam that will hopefully inspire future generations of Djs, Rappers, Chefs, Entrepreneurs, & Hustlers from the Bay and Beyond.
