About this event

Andrea "budafly" Rodriguez, presents a work-in-progress showcase that features a live performance, a virtual reality demo walk-through, and artist talk.

This autobiographical journey explores the themes of LOVE, LOSS and ADDICTION and touches on the topics of gentrification, mental health and substance abuse.

Original music score by Asdru Sierra, lead vocalist and musician for the multi-Grammy award winning band, OZOMATLI.

La Rumba No Para with Andrea Rodriguez will run 90 minutes and take place live in Brava’s Studio.

Brava has undertaken appropriate modifications to comply with health and safety protocols provided by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. These measures include requiring proof of vaccination, booster shot if eligible, and mandatory face covering that completely covers nose and mouth, secured with ear loops or head strap (gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable), increased cleaning before performances, and a no-touch or low-touch experience. ABOUT ANDREA RODRIGUEZ

Born and raised in the heart of the San Francisco, Mission District, Andrea Rodriguez, is an interdisciplinary artist that intersects dance and media to create compelling narratives for film, games, theater and mixed reality. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in World Arts and Cultures and Dance from UCLA and received her Master of Fine Arts degree from USC, School of Cinematic Arts, Interactive Media Division. Rodriguez, danced professionally in the Viva Navidad Parade at Disney California Adventure with Viver Brasil. She is a Game Producer for the Zumba Fitness Video Games franchise which have sold over 9 million units. She, is a recipient of the San Francisco Arts Commission, Individual Artist Grant and Professional Dance Development Grant from the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly known as the Actors Fund). A firm believer that movement heals, Andrea teaches dance, fitness and pilates classes across the Bay Area to youth and adults.
