We are THE NOCTURNISTS, the Bay Area's award-winning medical storytelling live show and podcast, and we’re thrilled to present our first live performance since before the pandemic: Together Again. Join us for an evening of stories told by healthcare workers about separations, reunions, and gatherings.

HOSTED BY Emily Silverman, an internist at UCSF and the creator and host of The Nocturnists. Her writing has been supported by MacDowell and published in The New York Times, JAMA, McSweeney's, and elsewhere. 


FEATURED STORYTELLERS


Mike Abernethy
is a clinical professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, helicopter flight physician, and former naval engineer, EMT & military officer.

Melanie Ambler is a first-year medical student at Stanford School of Medicine, cellist, and an aspiring physician-artist.

Alessa Colaianni is a head and neck surgeon and writer at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

Jackie Howitt is a retired OB/GYN in Rochester, NY, with a recently awarded degree in Medical Humanities and BioEthics from URMC. 

PJ Lally works as a hospitalist and hospice doc in Northern California, finishing a Masters in Divinity in Spirituality and Peacemaking.

Mimi Lee is a physician scientist, pianist, and neurosurgeon-cum-anesthesiologist building a gene therapy enterprise for Samsung in South Korea. 

Lillie Reed is a third-year medical and masters in epidemiology student at Stanford School of Medicine interested in psychiatry and pediatrics.

Tseganesh Selameab is a primary care doctor in St. Paul, MN by day and a medical education disruptor at night. 

Gretchen Volk has been a general pediatrician for the past 25 years and is currently a pediatric urgent care physician in Rochester, NY.

MUSICIAN Motoko Honda is a concert pianist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist.

Brava has undertaken appropriate modifications to comply with health and safety protocols provided by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. These measures include requiring proof of vaccinationbooster shot if eligible, and mandatory face covering that completely covers nose and mouth, secured with ear loops or head strap (gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable), increased cleaning before performances, and a no-touch or low-touch experience.
