ABOUT THE COMEDIANs

Diane Amos is a nationally famous actor, comedian and improv artist. For the past 20 years, Diane has been “The Pine Sol Lady” in the company’s national commercials. Diane received San Francisco Comedy Day’s Legend Award. Her television appearances include A& E’s Evening at The Improv, Lifetime’s Girls’ Night Out and Comedy Central’s Women Aloud. Fun fact: Diane has been a winner on the game shows: Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. Diane is the mother of two and says much of her success today comes from the example set by her mother. "My  mother was a single mom who was a feminist way before the feminist thing. My mother taught me to be fearless and showed me how that can open doors.”

Marga Gomez has created and co-produced comedy events for Brava since 2015 leading to her proud four year stint as ‘Head Mami’ of “Who’s Your Mami Comedy.” As a Brava Artist-In-Residence her 14th one person show “Swimming With Lesbians” will have its West Coast premiere at Brava Cabaret October 6th through October 22nd, 2023. Marga has been described as “deliciously cheeky and incendiary” by The New York Times and “a lesbian Lenny Bruce” by Robin Williams. Her solo plays have been produced nationally, internationally, and Off-Broadway. Accolades include the GLAAD Award for  Off-Broadway Theatre, 2022 United States Artists Fellowship for Theater, and the 2021 Center for Cultural Innovation Grant. ABOUt who’s your mami comedy

Who’s Your Mami Comedy was created as a hilariously trenchant response to misogyny in the comedy industry. But in the upside down new normal Brava’s women-led, rotating line up of deeply funny, culturally diverse, subversive comedians will mix truths with hot takes, a little raunch, and a mega dose of ‘red hat’ unfriendly weaponized wit aiming where no punchline has gone before.

Earlier Event: November 10
New Roots Theatre Festival
