Ric Salinas (Culture Clash, Placas) stars in 57 Chevy, a solo performance written by Emmy award winning writer Cris Franco. This hilarious and savvy memoir explores the Baby Boomers’ generation of “double immigrants” who first moved from their homelands to the U.S. barrios in search of opportunity, then moved on up into the suburbs in search of color TV and the middle-class American dream. 

57 Chevy premiered at the Los Angeles Theatre Center in November of 2015.  
 
As a founding member of the famed and acclaimed trio Culture Clash, which started right here in the Mission back in 1984, Ric Salinas has toured the country with over seventeen productions, among them the Mission, Bowl of Beings, Culture Clash in AmeriCCa and also Chavez Ravine, which won the prestigious LA Ovation Award for best play of 2015.  He recently completed a successful 19 city national tour as the star of Placas: The Most Dangerous Tattoo. Ric cruises back to the Mission with the San Francisco premiere of "57 Chevy"...fasten your seat belts!

Actor, writer, comedian, Cris Franco is best known for his work on television. He was born and lived in Mexico City until the age of three when his parents immigrated with him and his four sisters to the united States where he wise-crackekd his way to three Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards. Programs for which he has written include East Los High; God, the Devil and Bob; The Cris Franco Show; California Connected; Life and Times; The Puzzle Place; Square One and  Television; Café California; Al dia con Maria Conchita; El Show de Paul Rodriguez; and more. He is also a producer, director and actor.

Valerie Dunlap directs ’57 Chevy. In addition to being a director, she is also a choreographer, songwriter and playwright.
