Rueda Con Ritmo presents Compañía All Stars from Santiago de Cuba

The internationally celebrated Compañía All Stars from Santiago de Cuba are performing on the West Coast for the first time at Brava Theater. Get ready for an exuberant tour through a variety of Cuban bailes populares, from danzón and mambo, through son and rumba, to rueda de casino, reguéton, and beyond. Between acts, choreographer Jorge Luna Roque will briefly explain the history of the dances and lead an optional audience dance-along.

Founded in 2004, Compañía All Stars has struck the perfect balance of honoring tradition while continuing to experiment within the rich genre of Cuban social dance. Its members have toured Europe, Mexico, and the United States (in Washington DC and New York) and taught scores of international dancers who travel to the group’s base in Santiago de Cuba to study with them.

Saturday’s show includes an optional VIP pre-party with an open bar and a chance to meet Jorge Luna Roque, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and an after-show dance party open to all ticket holders until 11 p.m. (The pre-party and after-show dance party are not included in Sunday’s show.)
