StageWrite presents a multimedia production of original plays written by fifth graders from SFUSD, inspired by works of art at the de Young Museum, and performed by professional actors with music by The Write-Ons. Enter a world where… Superheroes speak secret languages, flowers fight nukes, & silly string is not a plaything.

ABOUT STAGEWRITE
Founded in 2003, StageWrite builds literacy skills, community, and self-esteem with inner-city elementary school children through theatre arts. In kindergarten and first grades, teaching artists help students gain oral language and conflict resolution skills through story dramas and in second and third grades students work on reading comprehension as they bring stories to life on stage. In fourth and fifth grades, each student writes an original play drawing on all they have learned. StageWrite is proud to work with students, teachers, and school communities throughout San Francisco to bring literacy to life. For more information about us you can go to stagewrite.org.
