Brava’s monthly stand-up series Who’s Your Mami Comedy relaunches this August on our virtual stage! Headlining the reboot will be comedian and Emmy-nominated writer LAURIE KILMARTIN (Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Comic Standing.) The evening will also feature Nuyorican comedian and actress Suni Reyes (Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Comedy Central’s Nora From Queens), and Bay Area treasures Dhaya Lakshminarayanan (NPR, “Best of The Bay Comedian” SF Bay Guardian/ 48 Hills), Dominique Gelin (from the award winning East Bay show "Man Haters” and SF Sketchfest), and comedian, dancer, actor Jesús U. BettaWork (“Best Gay Comedian” Bay Area Reporter). Marga Gomez, who was recently shouted out by the NY Times for her “outsize personality” that “no Zoom window could contain” will be hosting the show that she spawned one year ago.
Wear your comfy clothes and relax. Or “dress to impress” to win a prize! Host Marga Gomez will be mingling in the Zoom Room looking for the most fabulously attired (or most inventively? dressed) among you. So throw on a cocktail dress to go with that cocktail, get that tuxedo out of the closet, bedazzle your pajamas, and steal the spotlight. Our “best dressed” winner will receive one ticket to next month’s Who’s Your Mami Comedy, and a custom-made collector’s item Spanking Machine mask.

HOW TO WATCH
Upon purchasing your ticket you will receive a custom Zoom link via email. Please do not share this link with anyone as our Zoom space is limited. Zoom doors open 15 minutes before the 7pm performance. Please log into Zoom no later than 7pm (PST) so you don’t miss a moment.
The comedians would love to see your faces and hear your laughter, so audience members will be audible and visible upon entry (though you are welcome to change those settings if you prefer). To ensure the show is pleasurable for all, we ask that you watch from a quiet space and wear headphones if at all possible. We also ask you to make the following adjustments to your audio settings upon logging into Zoom:

ABOUT
Who’s Your Mami Comedy was created as a hilariously trenchant response to misogyny in the comedy industry. But in the upside down new normal that is 2020 Brava’s women-led, rotating line up of deeply funny, culturally diverse, subversive comedians will mix truths with hot takes, a little raunch, and a mega dose of ‘red hat’ unfriendly weaponized wit aiming where no punchline has gone before.
