ABOUT THE COMEDIANs

Baruch Porras-Hernandez (Host) has toured the country as comedian and writer performing in clubs, fancy universities, strip clubs, bars, a cave once, and your dad's back porch. He is the creator of the Latinx comedy series "Donde Esta Mi Comedy?" which has been featured at  SF Sketchfest three years in a row and all over the Bay Area. He's been featured at the Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, Oakland Comedy Festival and more. He’s appeared at"NYE Comedy Fiesta" at Brava Theatre, and "Comedy Bodega" at the historic Esta Noche Latinx Queer Bar. He was born in Mexico and lives in San Francisco.

Justin Lucas | This will be the Bay Area’s last chance to enjoy Justin’s comedy before he moves to Los Angeles for acting gigs. His Out, proud and sassy standup has been featured at Cobbs and SF Punchline. Justin is also a sketch comedy writer for the long running “Killing My Lobster” troupe. You may have seen Justin on stage with Theater Rhinoceros or on HBO’s “Looking.” His awards include: finalist in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition, Bay Area Reporter’s “Best Male Comedian” and semi finalist at The San Francisco Comedy Competition. Justin is a San Francisco native with fantabulous hair. Don’t miss his San Francisco farewell.

Persia is widely known as an in demand West Coast Drag performer, a favorite at “Drag Queen Story Hour”, an actor “Translating Selena”, and a regular host at SF Pride Mainstage. In an SF MOMA profile she said “I began performing at a bar in the Mission called Esta Noche, working every weekend for six consecutive years; it was my home. As the Mission began to rapidly gentrify, Esta Noche became the only queer Latinx bar in the city until, sadly, the space was sold in 2014. Over the course of my residency, I learned to accept the different sides of myself.’ Persia joins Mami Comedy tonight as a comedic story teller “I’m not funny but my life is. ”

Tom Ammiano is many wonderful things and always hilarious. He was elected to the SF Board of Supervisors, elected to California Assembly with Arnold, and featured in the “Life and Times Of Harvey Milk.”  Tom Ammiano is the undisputed “Mother OF Gay Comedy” who has appeared at Brava’s New Year’s Eve Show, as well as SF Comedy Day and Feinstein’s Cabaret and was one of the founders of San Francisco’s legendary Queer comedy cabaret “Valencia Rose.” He is also a dad, a Bernal Heights resident, profiled in The New York Times and the author of the acclaimed book “Kiss My Gay Ass.”

Angie Krass, The Mississippi Madam of Mayhem,  has never been one to play by the rules or live life by the norms. She has been hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “superior southern fried comedy.” She returns to the Bay after killing it at the 2023 New Orleans Queer Comedy Fest. Her other credits include Oakland Comedy Festival, Boston’s Woman Comedy Festival, Oakland’s Comedy Edge, and Seattle’s International Comedy Competition.

ABOUt who’s your mami comedy

Who’s Your Mami Comedy was created as a hilariously trenchant response to misogyny in the comedy industry. But in the upside down new normal Brava’s women-led, rotating line up of deeply funny, culturally diverse, subversive comedians will mix truths with hot takes, a little raunch, and a mega dose of ‘red hat’ unfriendly weaponized wit aiming where no punchline has gone before.
