Indómitas is a live monthly podcast series hosted by Chelis López of KPOO and Radio Bilingüe, featuring untamable voices of fierce women artists and activists. For the August 2023 podcast, Indómitas will interview Nancy Esteva, resource coordinator, inspiring poet, human rights defender and declamator.

Nancy Esteva, es una mujer inmigrante, originaria de Oaxaca, México.
Dedica su tiempo a empoderar a inmigrantes para que se esfuercen en alcanzar sus objetivos, conectándoles con recursos en la comunidad.
Con más de 20 años de experiencia ayudando a comunidades vulnerables de San Francisco, Nancy posee un profundo conocimiento del trauma que conlleva ser inmigrante.
Es defensora de los derechos humanos, poeta y declamadora. Inspira a la gente a escribir su propia historia. Y nos contará su historia personal como inmigrante, madre, hermana, hija, trabajadora de la comunidad. Compartirá su experiencia de alguna vez haberse quedado sin casa y los retos que enfrentó para salir adelante.

Nancy Esteva is an immigrant from Oaxaca, Mexico.
As a resource coordinator, she connects immigrants with community resources to help them achieve their goals.
With more than 20 years of experience helping migrant communities in San Francisco, she has a deep understanding of the trauma brought on by being an immigrant.
An inspiring poet, human rights defender and declamator, Nancy encourages people to write their own stories. Through our conversation, she will share her personal experience as an immigrant, mother, sister, daughter, and community worker. And she will share her experience of once being homeless and the challenges she faced in getting ahead.

These 60-minute conversations will cover the women’s stories of achievement, pitfalls, and hopes for their futures.
