Brava’s Cabaret may be a little less raucous these days (oh how we miss you, Who’s Your Mami Comedy!), but it does not sit idle, as it’s become home to a joint campaign between UCSF, General Hospital Ward 86, and the Latino Task Force to provide Covid testing and resources to Mission neighborhood residents. Over the last several weeks, the campaign has used the Cabaret for volunteer orientation, offices for the project’s staff, and as a staging ground for food and supplies delivered to those in need. The Mission campaign was triggered by data showing a disproportionate impact of Covid on the Latino community. Initial results of the testing can be found here.
